Kyle was an undergraduate at Cornell University where he received his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry while studying the rapid chemical kinetics of neurotransmitter receptors in the lab of George Hess. He moved to California in 2008 for graduate studies at Stanford University. At Stanford, he worked with Roger Kornberg studying chromatin and chromosome structure. After completing his Ph.D. in Biophysics, Kyle began his independent career in 2017 as the inaugural Feinberg Fellow at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine within the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. Kyle is a recipient of a 2017 NIH Director's Early Independence Award.
Tiffany graduated from Cornell University in 2017 with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Music. She studied DNA replication timing in Dr. Amnon Koren's lab, where she grew to love genomics and DNA. Tiffany is currently a DGP graduate student and is very excited to investigate chromatin folding, chromosome organization, and their effects on the epigenome and gene expression. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball and board games.
Jingxiao received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biological Sciences with specialization in Bioinformatics from UC San Diego. She studied post-transcriptional regulation in Dr. Brian Zid’s lab. Her research used next-generation sequencing to investigate ribosome elongation as a mechanism of differential protein synthesis during stress. Currently, she is focusing on chromosome folding and the effect on gene transcription using model-based analysis of histone modification and Hi-C.
Grant completed his degree in Biochemistry at Colorado State University in 2020. He spent his later years studying chromatin folding dynamics as a researcher in Dr. Jeff Hansen's lab. He grew more and more interested in the study of biochemical changes in structure and their impacts on cell function. Currently, Grant is seeking acceptance into medical school, but for the time being enjoys being active by painting, brewing beer, hiking, and much more.
